2022 Ford F-150 Power and Performance Features are Electrifying

The Ford F-150 is America’s biggest selling vehicle for a reason; it gets the job done. Largely credited for that prowess are a variety of powertrains and the inimitable Ford F-150 towing capacity which return with the 2022 model. While Ford leaves a good thing as is with its powertrain lineup, green enthusiasts welcome the F-150’s new hybrid for 2022.

Standard on the Ford F-150 XL and Ford F-150 XLT trims is a 3.3-liter V-6, good for 290 horsepower and a max towing capacity of 8,200 lbs. The 2.7-liter turbo-6, standard at the Lariat level, delivers 325 hp, 400 lb-ft of torque and carries a max towing capacity of 10,100 lbs.

If you’re really out to command attention, the 2022 Ford F-150 tips the scales in its favor in a big way with its two mightiest powertrains; a 400-hp 5.0-liter V-8, good for a max towing capacity of 13,000 lbs. The other is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which delivers 400-hp, 500 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to an astonishing 14,000 lbs.

Scheduled for a rollout with the 2022 collection of F-150s is the F-150 Lightning hybrid which includes a 47-hp electric motor and 1.5-kwh lithium-ion battery with the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 (430-hp and 570 lb-ft. of torque). The eyebrow-raising on-board generator which can run four 120-volt and one 240-volt outlets upwards of 32 hours.

Primarily rear-wheel drive, a Ford F-150 4x4 is an option.

Technology on Board the 2022 Ford F-150 Enhances Safety, Infotainment

The list of innovative tech specs associated with the Ford F-150 has always been extensive and remains as such with the 2022 iteration. Not only is the F-150 regarded as one of the safest pickup trucks to be had, but easy connectivity makes every related action convenient and entertaining.

Issued five stars overall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), safety features with the F-150’s technology package include Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control and much more. The 2022 Ford F-150 adds available advanced driver assistance which offers intervals of hands-free driving.

With regard to infotainment, technology makes it easy to connect to Bluetooth®, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Options include premium audio from an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen system. Making its debut in 2022 on Lightning versions of the Lariat and Platinum trims is SYNC® 4A, which actually adapts to driving behavior and habits. This is featured with a larger 15.5-inch touchscreen.

Other New Features of the 2022 Ford F-150

Following 2020’s makeover of the full size pickup truck, there has been little need to change much about the F-150 for 2022. It does, however, hit the ground with a few nice surprises. Additional new features include a larger variety of bed-utility and black-trim packages.

Also making its debut in 2022 with the Lightning version of the F-150 is Ford Intelligent Backup Power, which utilizes 9.6-kilowatts of power to help power things like your house should it lose power.

Loss, though, is the last word to be used to define the 2022 Ford F-150.
